101 70 – Demonstrate understanding of Employment Relations in an organisation

This unit standard is intended for persons who hold, or seek to hold, a supervisor or shop steward position. Persons credited with this unit standard are able to contribute to the effective functioning of an organisation by understanding the roles of various stakeholders in the organisation, and understanding agreements, policies and procedures related to employment in the organisation.

The qualifying leaner will be able to:

    • Demonstrate an understanding of the various stakeholders androles in an organisation
    • Demonstrate an understanding of organisational policies and procedures related to employment
    • Demonstrate understanding of employment related agreements

  • Correctly identifying relevant policies and procedures
  • Provide a satisfactory explanation of the mechanics of grievance and disciplinary procedures
  • Correctly use grievance procedures
  • Correctly identify various forms of agreements
  • Explain and identify various conditions of employment in an organisation
